Do not include sensitive personal information, payment credentials, government identification numbers, personal access codes, or unnecessary private information in public listings, reviews, photographs, or messages.

6. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Rentillion and its service providers may use cookies, pixels, software development kits, local storage, session-replay tools, tags, scripts, and similar technologies to:

  • Keep users signed in;

  • Prevent fraud;
  • Measure Platform activity;
  • Understand user interactions;
  • Diagnose technical problems;
  • Improve performance;
  • Personalize content;

Some technologies are necessary for Platform functionality. Others may be used for analytics, personalization, or advertising, subject to applicable consent and opt-out requirements.

Users may manage cookies through browser settings and any consent-management tools provided on the Platform. Blocking certain cookies may limit Platform functionality.

Where required by applicable law, Rentillion will recognize legally valid opt-out preference signals, including supported browser-based signals, for activities treated as a sale or sharing of personal information.

7. Sale and Sharing of Personal Information

Rentillion does not sell personal information for money in the traditional sense.

However, certain uses of advertising, analytics, cookies, pixels, or similar technologies may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under California law, even when no money is exchanged.

To the extent Rentillion engages in activity legally considered a sale or sharing, California residents may exercise applicable opt-out rights through:

  • A “Your Privacy Choices” or “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link made available on the Platform;
  • A supported opt-out preference signal;
  • The contact method provided in this Privacy Policy; or
  • Another legally compliant request method provided by Rentillion.

  • Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

Retention periods vary depending on the type of information, the purpose for which it was collected, applicable legal requirements, the existence of a dispute or investigation, fraud-prevention needs, and technical limitations.

Closing or deleting an account does not necessarily result in the immediate deletion of all information. Rentillion may retain information where continued retention is permitted or required by law.

Information stored in backups may remain for a limited period until backups are overwritten or deleted through ordinary retention processes.

9. Data Security

Rentillion uses administrative, technical, contractual, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, acquisition, destruction, alteration, disclosure, or misuse.

However:

  • No website, application, database, network, payment system, transmission method, or storage system is completely secure;
  • Rentillion cannot guarantee absolute security;
  • Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their passwords and access credentials;
  • Users must promptly notify Rentillion of suspected unauthorized account access; and
  • Users should not send sensitive information through unsecured communication channels.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rentillion is not responsible for unauthorized access resulting from a user’s failure to secure an account, device, password, email account, telephone number, authentication method, or communication channel.

Nothing in this section limits any nonwaivable duty imposed by applicable law.

11. California Privacy Rights

California residents may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, and other California privacy laws.

The availability of a particular right may depend on whether Rentillion is subject to the relevant law, the nature of the information, the reason the information is processed, and whether an exception applies.

Subject to applicable law, California residents may have the following rights.

A. Right to Know and Access

You may request information concerning:

  • The categories of personal information collected about you;
  • The categories of sources from which the information was collected;
  • The business or commercial purposes for collecting, selling, or sharing the information;
  • The categories of third parties to whom the information was disclosed;
  • The categories of personal information sold, shared, or disclosed; and
  • Specific pieces of personal information collected about you.

Where applicable, you may request that Rentillion limit certain uses or disclosures of sensitive personal information.

Rentillion may continue using sensitive personal information for legally permitted purposes, including providing requested services, maintaining security, preventing fraud, processing transactions, and protecting persons or property.

F. Right to Non-Discrimination

Rentillion will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.

Rentillion may offer legally permitted differences in services or pricing when reasonably related to the value provided by personal information or when otherwise permitted by law.

G. Exercising California Privacy Rights

To submit a California privacy request, contact Rentillion through one of the following methods:

Email: [PRIVACY EMAIL ADDRESS] Web Form: [PRIVACY REQUEST URL] Telephone: [TOLL-FREE NUMBER, IF REQUIRED] Mail: Rentillion Inc., Attn: Privacy Request, [BUSINESS MAILING ADDRESS]

Your request should clearly state:

  • The email address or telephone number associated with your account;
  • The right you wish to exercise;
  • Your state of residence; and
  • Sufficient information to identify and respond to the request.

H. Verification

Rentillion may verify your identity before processing a request. Verification may require matching information you provide against account records, confirming access to an email address or telephone number, requesting signed documentation, or using another reasonable verification method.

Rentillion will request only information reasonably necessary to verify the request.

If Rentillion cannot reasonably verify your identity or authority, it may deny or limit the request as permitted by law.

I. Authorized Agents

A California resident may use an authorized agent to submit a request. Rentillion may require:

California Civil Code section 1798.83 may permit certain California residents to request information regarding disclosure of personal information to third parties for their own direct-marketing purposes.

Rentillion does not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct-marketing purposes except as disclosed in this Privacy Policy or with the user’s consent.

Requests may be submitted to [PRIVACY EMAIL ADDRESS] with “California Shine the Light Request” in the subject line.

13. Do Not Track

Some browsers transmit “Do Not Track” signals. Because no universally accepted standard governs all such signals, the Platform may not respond to traditional Do Not Track signals.

Where required by applicable law, Rentillion will process legally recognized opt-out preference signals, such as supported Global Privacy Control signals, as requests to opt out of covered sale or sharing activities.

14. Children’s Privacy

The Platform is not intended for children under 18 years of age.

Rentillion does not knowingly permit individuals under 18 to create accounts, enter rental transactions, list property, or use services requiring legal capacity.

Parents or legal guardians who believe a child has provided information to Rentillion may contact [PRIVACY EMAIL ADDRESS].

15. Identity Verification and Background Information

Rentillion may use third-party services to verify identity, eligibility, credentials, ownership, insurance, licensing, driving status, criminal history, public-record information, or other risk-related information where legally permitted.

Rentillion is not responsible for the independent privacy, security, availability, or compliance practices of third-party payment providers, except to the extent liability cannot legally be excluded.

17. Insurance and Claims

  • Third-party security;
  • Third-party content;
  • Third-party accuracy;
  • Third-party availability; or
  • Third-party use or retention of information.

Accessing a third-party service is at the user’s own risk and subject to that third party’s policies and agreements.

  • Other operational developments.

The revised policy will be posted with an updated “Last Updated” date.

Where required by law, Rentillion will provide additional notice or obtain consent before a material change takes effect.

Continued use of the Platform after a revised policy becomes effective constitutes acknowledgment of the revised policy, but does not constitute consent where affirmative consent is legally required.

23. Severability and No Waiver of Legal Rights

If any provision of this Privacy Policy is determined to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision will be interpreted or limited to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in effect.
